If I don't want health care why should I have to buy it???? The way it should be is if you want health insurance you can buy it, if somebody doesn't want it he should not have to buy it. They have a deal here were if you aren't covered you get a better deal, simple. And if people would quit sueing t...

It appears they like selling used parts........

Pull the tranny and see if the input shaft is loose, it seems to me that a new input and clutch pushrod seal would fix it.

I run ATF once in a while, I don't know if it such a good idea though. Some have mentioned that it's got friction modifiers in it and that's not what you want in the IP. Also I was pouring some into a funnel the other day and noticed if poured just right it would bead up and the little beads would z...

It seems to me like draining the sumps (where the water gathers) and pouring it all in the rabbit would get you a tank of water, unless you drain out waaaay too much and separate it again.

I must pipe up or I'll have guilt when you cook your engine. It is very possible to hit 1250+F, I've done it and then backed out with the gauge still climbing. A td engine is capable of making higher temps than a NA simply because it has the ability to make more power and thus more fire. There's oth...

Yeah they are supposed to prevent vibration. It's easier to just replace all 4 with new ones that are clamped together then frig around with the clamps. What's worse is that it's way too easy for the clamps to fall apart in your hand and drop down into where your timing belt is. I think I'll invest...

This whole health care nonsense is about money and control, we pay, get poorer and somebody is gonna pocket a lot of it AND, control even more of our daily lives. America "is" a free country, if this kinda thing keeps getting pushed though it won't be for long. Also if obama is so concerne...

Make sure you drill where it says to for the rabbit, IIRC the dasher is different and probably mk2's are different too.

Drilling the lock doesn't hurt a thing, it's only so you can poke a wire in and compress the spring that holds it in.....it should've been done by volkwagen. You gotta look in the book to find the spot to drill, I did it installed on my rabbit, you have to remove the steering wheel and then the bott...

Park on a hill, shut it off and put it in 4th gear. Let it creep forward, it should lurch forward evenly meaning the compression is equalish in all cylinders. Flat ground will work too, you'll just have to push it.

Weird, we still use MEK quite a bit........

Probably why acetone helps ATF free stuff up is 'cause it's so thin it'll creep in just about anywhere and when mixed with ATF it drags the ATF along with it.
