It's just as simple as you've stated. Take off the cover, replace the o-ring, ensure spring/washers are in place. re-install the cover. The piston, inside the bore won't fall out as it's retained by a pin in the roller ass'y inside the pump. However, you'll probably find that the pump will start lea...

There is a spring and a sort of piston assembly. but
it's a pretty simple procedure,

There is an o-ring under each side cover and a further o-ring
on the cold start operating shaft.

There's nothing complicated about it, though.

North or South of the border?

Yes, many of the experts, on here,
do, indeed, "Rock".

And their invaluable advice helps the
rest of us dolts "Roll" .

They're held on by a number of little plastic clips (that break easily) secured to what look like nail heads. They can be very carefully prised out, with a flat-bladed screwdriver, taking great care not to bend them. How you get them back on, I haven't got around to yet. I'll let you know shortly.

Priceless, indeed :) . She's a lovely little girl who's, clearly, enjoying herself. Would that be one of "Dad's" old shirts she's wearing? The only picture I have of my two (son & daughter) "helping Dad fix the car" (oil change) was taken when we were in the U.K. A Mercedes 1...

small O-ring seal (hopefully).
