The blue wire is for the idiot light and the 2 larger spade terminals adjacent to it are positive out. There is another terminal on the back somewhere for the noise suppression condenser.

Sounds like you have the "W" terminal type plug.

After being in place for a long time they can be pretty stuck. Had to wiggle mine around a bit to remove it but it eventually popped right off.

Either way it sounds like you could drive safely for several hundred miles if you limited un-needed electrical power consumption, and of course had a good battery.

Charging system seems to be working fine but the alt light never goes out. It has always stayed on for a bit after start up but suddenly it stays that way at all RPM.
