Story....
Here is a story about a vehicle that sat around for some time..... it's a gasser, but it probably applies. It was a 1952 GMC pickup truck w/ a 228 engine. It was parked a few years before I was born and I tried to get it started when I was in high school. Basically, the same amount of time. Dad told...

You should be able to get a really rusty or smashed Rabbit for pretty cheap. Or, an engine from a Rabbit. Since the two vehicles in question have different drivetrains and engine orientations, you're going to need parts from an original Rabbit configuration for proper installation. Unless this Quan...

OKay..... So, if I bought that variable geometry turbo (vnt) that you linked, would I need to make that linkage you did in your vnt mounting on the 1.5? I ran across a vnt post in searching online where it was mounted on a Mercedes 300. Or would I just have to change out the electronic controller to...

VNT... wow. That is an inexpensive turbo he's selling! That would work.... but... it looks electronic controlled..... but what would have to be changed on that to make it work for my application? Put a mechanical boost controller to replace the electric one and good to go? Took a quick glance at you...

Old thread but.....
... is there anything else anyone would like to add to this type of conversion? I'm thinking of doing this..... I have a lead on a Quantum engine... and have a 78 Rabbit that needs an engine.
(I have a thread in the projects section...... so I don't hijack this thread)

I've never seen a crack like that. My guess would be they let it freeze without antifreeze in it, with all those cracks. Yeah, first place I check is where the rear end bolts to the frame. Where the control arms bolt to the frame. Where the outer seat rails meet the edge of the car,.. pinchweld. A ...
