I guess the alternative might be a block like this, then reaming my 11mm head ...

This one is re-ringable with the same size pistons my cracked block has.

Re: Cracked block options
Trying, most likely will find a complete TD - thats where I want to be even though its minimal HP increase. I think it`ll be more efficient, MPG, etc would be fun to play with.coke wrote:Get a 12mm block and prosper.

In the fall i`m going on a picknpull( .com ) road trip from Portland, OR to SoCal. They always have a 50% off sale on TG we...

Love that green one. One of the colors i`d like to get ahold of.
I bet he had an impressive collection of diesel tools, pop testers, etc i`d like to have access to.

I had a little bit of water dumped into my #2 also, but it was my fault for not fully draining the engine block before I pulled the head.

Re: Describe injector noise
Yep checked that out a few weeks ago, was thinking since I anti-siezed everything maybe it rattled loose. Both in/exhaust have new gaskets, studs, etc also.
I`m excited to start balancing the injectors & finding out what sort effect this has on everything, going to be a great experience.

Describe injector noise
Hey Guys, Now that i`m getting used to the diesel and spotting signs of wear i`d like to get an idea what i`m listening to when driving. When driving through town with the windows down it sounds like I have exhaust leaks everywhere on an old chevy v8. Can you guys describe in your opinion how some v...

Re: Seized Engine
Alright so I finally got the head off, and the block is exactly how everyone warned. Cracked in one corner.
So, either I find a new long block, or what does it take to do a early mechanical TD swap? And what cars had this engine so I can start looking?

Re: A friend is taking the Fatmobile to California,.. and ba
Yeah I wanted to run WVO or WMO but the big commercialized setups here have it all spoken for, so its actually really hard to get aside from small restaurants apparently.
So back to the friend, I ran into someone here who gets a few gallons at a time and may have some to spare.

Re: A friend is taking the Fatmobile to California,.. and ba
4.25 a gallon for wvo? Thats more than diesel from the pump where I live. People are really profiting on green technology these days. I agree, was shocked when I saw it. When I lived there I watched it go from 3.95 to 4.25 when diesel hit 4.50 - seemed a little suspicious and capitalist to me, but ...
