Hey Michael, can you please post where we can find the downloadable pdf on the Bosch rebuild process/internals parts?
Thanks, Matt

Re: Oil in my air intake- bad breather vent?
My ride had the same thing going on. Very normal for old diesel motors. 300k miles...oil blowby coming out the breather and filling the air intake system. I finally rebuilt the motor, and I'm patiently awaiting my last piece, my turbo housing from the machine shop before dropping her back in. I reco...

Re: NA --> ECO Conversion + Turbo Rebuild Kit
I have the K24 on my 84 Jetta w/ a 5spd. Even stock settings with 300k it was a rocket, compared to my dad's 81 NA Rabbit 4spd. Beware! If you plan on rebuilding an old turbo, be prepared to run into multiple rusty broken off bolts and studs in the housing. It can be a royal PITA to extract them wit...

Re: Turbo Oil Feed Line
My line has normal compression fittings and ferrules on both ends. And the Garrett T3 and KKK K24 bearings look indentical in design.

Re: Turbo Oil Feed Line
I rebuilt my K24 personally, new bearings, sealing rings, and o-rings. They are "oil" floating thrust bearings and have multiple small holes in them so the oil seeps through to the shaft. The small holes in the bearings must be what your'e reffering to as an oil "restrictor". The...

2011 PA Volksfest - Location Changed!
2011 Havoc Volksfest Saturday April 30th Event Location has been CHANGED! This year it is being held on the grounds of the Mount Hope Estate & Winery, home of the Pa Rennasaince Faire. Havoc really had no choice but to move the show, in order to keep it going. I was told there will be a beer and...

Re: Turbo Oil Feed Line
I had Industrial Motor Supply in Harrisburg, PA make the line for me. The price was steep, at $75. But it included fancy Parker metric swivle elbows with a lock nut design built into it. Excellent upgrade over the stock hard line. Looks way better, and is easily removed, without spilling oil all ove...

Re: Turbo Oil Feed Line
Ok. I got it figured out. Its a M12 x 1.5 fitting.
Got a stainless steel braided line with swivel elbows made today at the hose shop.
Now I'll be back in business!

Turbo Oil Feed Line
Has anyone swapped out their stock hard metal turbo oil feed line to a stainless steel braided flex line? Im trying to figure out what the thread diameter/pitch is on the turbo and oil filter flange fittings. Is it some funky Metric thread size and pitch? It looks like it has straight threads, not t...

Re: Add-on Oil Pressure Gauge..How To??
Im going through the same headache right now hooking up a mechanical oil pressure gauge, water temp sensor, boost, and pyrometer. Trying to find standard to metric adapters was a real pita. But I found them in the Autometer catalog but they are expensive...about $15 per adapter! Next I need to repla...

Re: Prepping for re-ring job
I used a cheap Harbor Frieght Triple Stone Flex Hone. It seemed to work very well, and removed the carbon ridge at the top of the cylinders. I have never used a Ring Pliers, but use a Ring Compressor often. ( In the past I have used a big metal adjustable radiator clamp in a jam though, with good re...

I have never used it before, but I do know Water Wetter is very popular in snowmobile grass drag racing circles.
I have always used Cycle Logics "Engine Ice" in my motocross bikes with great results. Im thinking of using the Engine Ice in my Jetta TD next to drop my temps.

Re: honing grit
Not sure on the NA. My turbo had both, upper rings were chrome, lower was steel I believe. I only did a re-ring job, so I just wanted to remove the glazing. So I used a cheap honing tool in my drill from harbor freight. I just lubed the cylinders decent with some WD-40, and let in spin while moving ...
