if your MIL light isn't on and assuming the motor has good compression and there doesn't seem to have any other issues, it's probably the MAF sensor. But I've also seen turbo's be shot and not light the MIL. The easy thing to try first is get under the car and see if the wastegate lever moves[about ...

frybrid switches

I got some good used frybrid 3 port switches, but the guy who gave them to me didn't take them off and so doesn't know which ports are in/out/vege. If anybody has installed any of these could you let me know which is which.
thanks

well i really don't want to get into a big debate or argument about this, but since i've been at vw through 5 generations of models i can tell you what my impressions are. It seems since the a4 models came out what i call the corporate build mentality has completely changed. They seem to have adapte...

as far as we've seen at work[vw dealership] synthetic oil seems to help the keep motor cleaner-it helps to prevent coking. personnally i recommend a 98 tdi highly, possibly the best allround car i,ve ever owned.

vege or biodiesel timing/fuel map

i'm just about to convert my 98 tdi to run on vegediesel and was told that i will have to have the ecm flashed to adapt the fuel/timing map to compensate. Anybody ever run across this issue, will accept all advice.I am going to have the nozzles modified so they won't clog.

i was thinking more for someone who doesn't have the expertise, place,or money to fabricate the motor mount, oil plumbing, etc. By just pushing the compression i would think you get maybe 60-79 hp and 90 lbs of torque and it would be basically just an engine swap. Not as much as a turbo, but better t...

bump that compression

there may be a thread about this somewhere else, but how about installing an aaz or iz or ahu motor without the turbo, and instead bumping the compression with a thinner headgasket? i'm sure someone has tried this somewhere. If i remember the compression on those motors is 19:1. couldn't you put it u...
