Best fuel conditioner w/anti gel?

Now that cold weather is here, what is your favorite fuel conditioner with anti gel. CRC, Gunk etc. there are a bunch of them out there. I'm sure there are ones we never heard of.

I would think starter.

I also would think starter. Before taking the steering wheel of check it out with the volt meter. Then check under the streering wheel. I had a small short at the fuse for the GP. But of course it's only shorted when the GP are on. Look at this. http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=0IbM2bZ...

They crush them to fast.

Thanks Surfcam. I've been checking junk yards for a "98" for seats and most of these yard crush cars to fast. I was calling yards every Saturday to check. I'll start asking for "91" diesel too. Dose anybody know what models and what years fuel lines fit a 91 Jetta? I'm scared now...

Pulse

Yes. It would be for a spare. In case I get stuck some where. But I didn't think about the pulsing. If a hydraulic hose maker made a good one it probably wouldn't last long because of the pulsing. The hose would be vibrating at high speed all the time. As Surfcam pointed out. At some time I'm going ...

Good idea.

That's a good idea maybe he can make the whole hose, flares and all. They would have to take into consideration where the 1st bends are so it would fit right. I checked the top two bolts on the IP but not the bottom one yet. They seem tight enough. I did put a socket on them and gave them a little m...

Thanks

Thanks, your probably right. Thats line what I was thinking about. I was thinking about cutting the VW line and using the same flare. But before I end up ruining a good line I need to talk to some one at that hydraulic shop to see if it's practical to do this. Or if they can take the flare and make ...

1500+PSI

Thanks 82vdub. That was my next question, how much psi is in that line. I was thinking more like a line that's flexible with the steel braid. It has a hex fitting that goes over the steel fuel line with the flare. Than you put on the flexible fuel line and than you slide down the hex that's already ...

Buying steel fuel lines.

Does anyone know where I can buy the steel fuel lines besides the dealer (Jack is out of stock)? They are about $80.00 from the dealer (I bought one). I also had a idea to cut the steel line about 3-4 inches up from the flare and try to put some of that stainless steel braided line with high presser...

How long ago?

82vdub, How long ago has it been since you replaced your missing bolt? I'm kind of scared that this is going to happen again. I had to get towed back from NY. Thank goodness for AAA. 1st 100miles is free. Thats why I had it towed to were I work(less than 100/M).

Broken I/P mount?

1991 1.6 ME Jetta. Has anyone had a cracked or broken injection pump mount? I had cylinder #2 fuel line brake twice. The dealer said that they would warranty it this time but not the next time, because it's caused by a broken injection pump mount and they added thats it's always #2 fuel line that br...

I fixed it.

Found the problem and fixed it! I found out that the someone plugged the glow plug lead in the back of the fuse box in the wrong place. One that was hot all the time. I unplugged it and found the correct spot to put it. When I did find the wright place to put it I found out that there was a small cu...

I'll check the points.

As long as the key is on the bus bar has voltage going threw it.
When I get home tonight I check the points inside the relay again. This time I'll take it inside the house with me and give it a good look under a bright light.

Thanks

Glow plugs stay on 91 Jetta.

My glow plugs stay on in my 91 Jetta GL, as log as the ignition switch is in the on position. The glow plug light does go out on the dash, but the glow plugs stay on. I did all the tests from the Bentley Manual. Everything seems to check out. I even took the cover off the relay to see if anything lo...

Timing

I'd just by a new belt (there not that much) and time it the right way. By the book. With a dial indicator.
