yea well, rod is apart, :shock: piston is up and 3/4 of the way to the top ring. maybe i'll take more sandpaper to it. pistons are new, sure the pounding did no damage. thx for the replies, maybe i just need to take alot of sandpaper to where the ring-groove remover stopped, may be just a little rid...

well let me put it like this, ITS not a gas cam. :oops: well i'll have to measure 1 and 3 piston heights and see what i get, gosh -busted. but on the other hand i'm using a 3 notch head gasket, so the pistons would have to be wrong, and they re mahle sooo if 1 and 3 are good, i dont know what... yet...

If your head is a copy or refurbished[skimmed], it is possible that the valve heads are not recessed into the head enough, and valves can get very close to the piston either side of TDC, yet have clearance at TDC. This is what is happening to my head that I over skimmed... However in my case it is ...
