Re: Unstick pistons in Block that sat outside? How?

Use a cylinder hone and hone out the upper portions of the bores. Use tons of lubricant. Then drive the pistons out the top.

A2 diesel into A3 gas - Please direct me to pertinent posts

I tried to use the search function to get this information - came up empty handed. Although I know the topic has been covered extensively. Please direct me to applicable postings or external websites that would help me. I am going to buy a 1997 Jetta gasser and I would like to drop an A2 diesel engi...

Thanks for all the tips. Haven't done anything else to it yet. When I get that injector out, I'll remove the head and see what the cylinders look like. It may have been run out of oil. Perhaps the crank is seized in its bearings - I do not know yet, and no one at the shipyard had any first hand know...

Look what I dragged home! 1.9L industrial engine

I bought a piece of construction equipment off of ebay. I drove to the location (a shipyard) to pick it up and as I'm walking through the yard, I stumble upon this engine sitting on the ground. After some negotiation, it was mine. Its a 1.9 liter block. Engine is frozen. Turbo is also frozen and the...

You can have (free) the old springs out of my '91 Jetta. They're used. I replaced them with heavy duty springs from the parts place, but honestly did not notice any difference. Used but still good. If you can pay the shipping from Lafayette, LA or if you are ever passing through on I-10, you can sto...

I have two (2) "FF" 5-speed transmissions - both came out of early '80s VW diesels. I bought them out of the junkyard back in the early '90s and I've never tested them. They are "probably good" but there's no way for me to know. $50 each plus palletizing/freight from Lafayette, L...

Alright thanks, I'm ordering all the stuff from parts4vws.com. Might as well buy everything I guess. The spring seat is apparently made out of steel (as far as I can tell) and I think mine is ok, so I won't get that. I'll check the rear axle bushings, but again I think those are ok. All of this star...

1991 Jetta rear shock project - what to replace

1991 VW Jetta GL 1.6 liter naturally aspirated engine Hello, my rear shocks are going "clunk clunk" everytime I pass over the smallest bump. I have already purchased the new shocks. Before I take the old ones out, I wanted to buy all the small parts, so I'll have everything I need on the d...

Looks exactly like my '91! Same color and all! Mine has a couple of dents and scratches here and there. I paid $600 back in 2003 with 209K miles. Still driving it daily. Excellent score! J. Stewart

WTB Front Motor Mount (steel part) for MKII diesel Jetta

Bought a 86 partially cannibalized Jetta diesel, came with eng and trans, but the PO had pulled the entire "front" motor mount (I'm talking about the one that is located below the radiator fan - the one that uses the starter mounting bolts). So I'm looking for the steel mounting frame and ...
