Re: HELP With Belt Routing
OK so I think I figured out the double pulley part. Evidently there are 2 separate pulleys that bolt together on the WP. I seem to be missing the outer one. I think I found what I need here... http://www.jimellisvwparts.com/products/For-vehicles-with-power-for-vehicles-with-air-v-belt-pulley-steerin...

HELP With Belt Routing
I have a 91 1.6L Jetta with PS and AC. I am attempting to but the front of the engine with all the belts back together that someone else took apart and am having all sorts of trouble. I found a decent pic of how everything is supposed to go here. http://compu85.homeip.net/stuff/vw/1_6-diesel-belts.G...

Re: I am about ready to give up on Jetta timing belt
demac I did shim the front engine plate (bottom rear holes) and that did help. Belt is now sticking out less then 1/16 inch on crank pulley. Noticed while I was doing it that the Int shaft had some back and forth play and thats why I asked the question. now I have NEW problem. After shimming I reset...

Re: I am about ready to give up on Jetta timing belt
The intermediate shaft seems to have a lot of play back and forth ( but not up and down) could this be my problem?

I am about ready to give up on Jetta timing belt
I am racking me feeble brain trying to figure out why my timing belt is not tracking right. It wants to stick over edge about 1/8" on crank pulley. If I were to bolt on acc. pulley with belt hanging over it would tear up belt right? Engine has rebuilt head, rebuilt IP and new tension adjuster. ...

FRUSTRATED
Well after seeing that my IP bushing was worn and figuring that was causing my belt to want to ride off the crank pulley, I had my IP rebuilt. Well IP is back and re installed and no more wiggle in IP bushing. Whats frustrating is the timing belt is still riding off crank pulley. Not as bad as befor...

Re: More Air Intake Hose Questions
Thanks for the pic Tyler. Now I have a better idea of what Im looking for. Also a good idea about using an earlier box and hose. Do you know if a box and hose off any body style would work or just Jettas? As a bonus I also got to see how the fuel lines are routed, although I dont have the bent metal...

More Air Intake Hose Questions
I am still looking for an air intake hose for my 91 Jetta Turbo 1.6 ECO Diesel. I have a couple questions. 1. What years are interchangeable with mine? I have seen new silicone hoses on ebay but they are listed for 83-84 jettas. 2. What size turbo does my 1.6 ECO Diesel have? There are different hos...

Intake Hose
As I am slowly putting back together an engine that someone else took apart I realized I do not have the Hose that connects from the filter box to the turbo. Any ideas where I can find one???

Re: No Start
On my timing belt tracking issues... I was poking around the IP mounting bracket and noticed that the PO had removed 3 of the 5 bolts holding the bracket on! Well I replaced the bolts and figured that would cure the tracking prob. With TB loose it tracked great but once I tightened the belt back up ...

Re: No Start
82vdub- So if I understand you correctly since the TB is currently slipping off towards the passenger side of car I want to raise high pressure side up to correct it.
Question- how many bolts are there on the IP bracket? Do I have to remove IP to access them?
Thanks for all the help
