I'm pretty sure I have what you need but if you could post up a picture/outline or describe it precisely that'd be great.

If I could find triple square heads for CVs that were as deep as the ones on the head bolt I'd be all over it, but for axles it's the highest grade allen heads all the way.

It seems that for dirty applications like CVs allen heads are better. The replacement allen heads I nabbed from a fastener shop were much deeper than the triple squares were and as a result are far less likely to strip. Triple squares as head bolts are great since they aren't likely to get dirty, bu...

Ithink you can get a nice set if ya happen to find a 4 door rabbit. Just use all the inners IIRC.

For curiosities sake, what's the difference between these studs and high grade (12.9?) threaded stuff one can get from a fastener shop?

Re: blend gas/diesel - restart discussion

My 92 Jetta manual says gasoline can be added to the diesel up to 30%. There are no related comments on temperature. With Diesel 70 cents above gas, this would be a worthwhile $ improvement. Not exactly. Diesel has about 15% more energy than gas per gallon, so even if diesel is 70cents more, there ...

Like Chris said, dealing with private and business vehicles are two different things. Also, I looked up the 2007 emissions standards for heavy duty trucks, and per hphr, they were roughly equivalent to what automakers had to deal with in the late 70s/early 80s, so CA diesel Rabbits are not only fair...

I was hoping to do something like this except instead of recording the injector firings, the sound card would just record voltage based on a TPS hooked up to the IP cable. Even if it isn't linear, I figure I can apply a transform to the voltages after data from a few tanks, but for some reason I thi...

Hagar, do you know if the system used to regulate control collar travel is linear? For example, if I wanted to use a throttle position sensor, could I equate the position of the IP cable with the amount of fuel injected linearly, or do I need some sort of transform because the springs in the IP aren...

Thanks! I happen to have three 11mm blocks (two 1.6s and a 1.5) for parts but no head bolts to check.

Does anyone have any measurements on stud length and possibly the threads per inch on an 11mm block?

Do they have head studs for both the 11mm and 12mm or is it a one size fits all deal? They seem a bit pricey at ~$150, but at the same time, it'll probably be a wash wrt rebuilds, especially if I screw something up.
