Won't start

Well yesterday when i tried to start my 82 Rabbit it would only hit as though only 1 cylinder was trying to fire. I parked it just the day before and it ran ok. It has always started super quickly especially after rebuild. Checked plug continuity and and voltage seemed ok but i hav'nt checked each p...

Hey Hagar i hav'nt forgot about your answer to take flow and pressure tests as well as measureig discharge valves. How do you take these measurements? I'll measure valve lengths very shortly and will post results. Sorry about the delay in writing back but my job i work keeps me pretty well slammed. :)

Hey Hagar is there a specific way to adjust them? I can see they just thread apart for cleaning so i at least want to clean up a set before i go to the trouble of changing pump out. my root problem is jerkiness/surging at low speeds. timing is per bently so even though i'm not necessarily extracting...

Thanks that's what i'm now suspecting MIGHT be my problem. I wonder if that type of problem would be more pronounced at lower speeds? Oh BTW bosch calls it a delivery valve. :)

Yes it's the little forgotten valve that is between pump and injector. According to bosch it's responsible for quite a bit but how would it act if it's defective is my question. Thanks . Also thanks for advise on seats. :)

Does anyone know how a engine would run if a defective dicscharge valve were on the ip? I still hav'nt sloved my slow speed surge /jerk i some times have and i hate to pull the pump but i'm running out of options. Also is a big job pulling seats out of a 82 rabbit? new carpet on the way. thanks :)

Well changed out injectors and put in known good ones. It helped and motor is smoothest yet BUT it still has a surge just off idle when pulling out from stop and just running in the driveway you can hear it acting up at certain speeds only. compression readigs as follows #1 =440 #2= 420 #3 =410 and ...

I have only the 3 face bolts tight righ now and my bracket has just been mated to my newly rebuilt block so i know there tight. Man that would be great if putting that rear bolt in cured it. Will definately do that before pulling injectors. Actually i lost that rear bolt so i'll get one and relace i...
