I have 5 gallons of wvo from a local restaurant. It is about a year and a half old. Has anyone here used oil that old to make biodiesel?
Thanks

no, i do blends. but wvo will go bad after a while. what that means im not sure. if the wvo was filtered and dewatered and stored in a sealed container w/o air, then it should still be good for bio and even straight wvo systems.

i'd still filter it again before using.

I never use any WVO that's more than 6 months old especially if it hasen't been filtered. Seen way too many problems with old WVO. SOMETIMES you can tell by the smell when it's gone "off" but not always. Better not to take a chance.

Darn. I've got 5 gallons of old oil I should have used up. It's over a year old.
