Oil for 98 TDi Beetle

Post by wild3bill »

Would Mobile 1 SUV 5W-40 be a good choice for this engine?I understand the newest TDI's require very special synthetic oil.I had switched my 85 Golf from Rotella 15-W40 to Rotella synthetic 5W-40, But I will be getting a 98 TDi Beetle soon.

Mobil1 SUV 5W-40 is repackaged Delvac1, which is a CH-4 rated
synthetic oil. This is what you want to put into your TDI.
