1998 VW Jetta TDI 1.9L strong diesel odor
Have a strong diesel odor, like unburnt fuel coming from the exhaust on my 98 TDI. Im thinking maybe the intake is plugged up with soot/oil as is common with these cars and as a result, incomplete combustion is occuring. Any thoughts?
Yep
That'd be my diagnosis,as long as it seems like it's hitting on all 4 cyls. Intake and EGR can really get plugged up on these cars.
Other possibility is bad MAF,which is common as well.
