Dash warning lights!!!!

I have a warning light on in my wifes 2000 golf t.d.i. It's in the center display to the right at the top a yellow circle with 3 slahes on the left and the right, kinda looks like a sun, i have no owner's manual , so i have no idea what this means . I happened after she said she swerved to avoid a pot hole! go figure! any help would be greatly appreciated!!
