Having just yanked the gerabox out 'cos of a severe oil leak from the seal on the input shaft I'm a bit worried about the amount of side play on the shaft.... Anybody know what it should be like??
Also...
It appears that the needle bearing on the end of the crank has disappeared...?? There was a few bits of metal lying aroung in the end of the shaft socket and the remains of an O-ring around the front lip. Is it possible it's ground away to nothing?? Or I am I looking at whats left of the outer shell of the bearing? In which case, how the **** do I get that out? There was a bit of grooving on the end of the input shaft but I hope it'll be OK like that... The engine is still in the van and I hope to leave it that way.
I just know someone can tell me the answers.... thanks...
