I have a complete 85 1.6 td jetta, a complete non-running 82 vanagon diesel n/a, and a complete running 85 gas westy. I want to put the 1.6 turbo in the gas westy. Do I have all of the parts I will need? Which transmission would work best?
thanks,
Rich Mason

Sounds like you should have everything you need. You will need to transfer some parts
from the 1.6 N/A to the td motor (oil pan, oil pump pick,....) . You will want to
use the gas transmission, has higher gears. Which means you have to move the
bell housing and input shaft from the diesel trans to the gas trans.

That or you have to rework the driver side motor mount.Fatmobile wrote:I think you need Quantum, turbo exhaust manifold.
