Replacement radiator for a diesel westy?
I have an 82 vanagon with a 95 jetta motor in it. Everything has been going well but I think the radiator is on its way out. From what I hear the diesel radiators are no longer available. Is it possible to retrofit a later gasser radiator in there? what is involved? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

radiator and cooling issues
Hey there... I did the same thing last year with my 82 van. I likely need a new rad before next summer also.
However if you don't already know it... the first few years of these vans came with steel pipes for coolant. Apparently this is a probem when they rust and the restiricted flow makes the bad water pump worse.
For my van I will be changing the pipes before the rad (or both).
