Libbypapa, can you help. I have a 65 amp alternator from my diesel vanagon and want to use it on petrol mk1 1.8 8v - I know the diesel one has an extra W terminal for diesel tacho, but apart from that and getting the correct pulley size, are the two interchangeable. I know this is a big ask, but you seem to know things like this. They are the same amp rating, but I don't want to blow the diesel one up if it's wrong!!!
