Can't figure it out

None of the cylinder bores look scratched or damaged at all. I looked at each carefully and could only see minor vertical scratches. The pistons look to be in good shape as well, although each has a lot of carbon in the first compression ring slot, so much that the slots appear to be 1/3 as deep as they should be. One of the pistons has some damage to it around the top edge. It almost looks like part of the piston melted. How much damage is acceptable? The damage is very small in reality, it just looks bad.

Also I don't know much about what the po did with this car but it almost looks like two of the three broken rings are thinner than they should be, when compared to the other two middle rings.

The one bad piston is very likely the result of a bad injector spray pattern.
