Hello,
I need to know the specifications, length, width, and thread, for the two bolts that hold the starter onto the engine.

This MIGHT help, I have no experience with automatics, only manual transmissions:
size: M10 x 1.50 pitch
head: 17mm
length: 135 mm Any GOOD hardware store will have 120mm as their longest M10 bolt and that will work, but just barely and you'd better not use washers under the heads or you won't have enough thread engagement or room enough to deliver final tourque with the box end of the wrench.
Again, I don't know if this info will carry over to the automatics, but it is dead-on for the manual transaxles.
If you have the starter out, as I had mine out this very night in my 91 Jetta- the way they have it set up leaves much to be desired- if you have time, fabricate the correct size/legth stud and use flange nuts on the starter end frame side. Once you pull the OE style bolts, the engine may roll forward, as these two bolts hold the only forward engine mount to the engine via the bellhousing.
