That depends on how much cash you are willing to part with to repair it.
Parts are available, but most of the time at least, they are not free!
I did a Garret/AiResearch T3 that needed an impeller. Rebuild kit was around $100. A junkyard turbo with coked bearings and some radial slop in it's bearings provided another impeller for a mere $20.
I have no idea how much a new impeller would be, and hope to never need to know!
Anyone rebuilt a turbo?

turbo
So they didn't need balancing, if the impeller was in good shape?
No need to make sure it's put back on exactly like it came off? ... there is probably a keyway to make sure it is put back on exactly as it came off.
I'm talking about the KKK 24 I have sitting here.

Balance
No Balancing required, at least with the Garrets.
Impellers ARE neutral balanced by the factory.
Shaft has nothing to do with it.
Kind of like when you balance a tire.
The axle doesn't effect the balance of the tire in any way.
Not sure if KKKs are keyed. Something tells me they are not,but I really don't recall. It's been several years since I had one apart.
