Which Turbo on a '83 Quantum 1.6TD?

Which turbo unit is on a stock '83 Quantum TD? Is the boost adjustable? How to adjust? Is the waste gate where boost is adjusted? Does that mess up the amount of fuel that is fed via the IP? Don't know anything about these turbo engines. Should I add a boost gage? Thanks, Harry

I'm getting a mid eighties Quantum w/ a TD in a week or so. Shoot me a PM and I'll tell you (reply) what it has when I get it.
As to turning up the boost...
Do this at your own risk (I've done it):
Install a boost gage fed from the intake manifold.
"T" the line to the wastegate.
Run a line into the driver's compartment and connect it to a simple Aquarium air valve.
Open the valve slightly. Test drive car. Want more boost? Open it some more. (this bleeds off some of the boost signal before it gets to the wastegate,keeping it closed longer)
You may need to turn up the smoke screw as well. (probably...depends on how much you increase the boost!)

Harry. I pulled the engine today. The turbo is a KKK. I'll see if I can find some numbers on it, if that'll be helpful.
I got your PM with the questions. I will have a look for you and get back via PM.

They came with either the kkk K24 or the Garrett T3. If it says KKK then it's the K24.
