Wiring kit for 84 rabbit diesel?

Post by Diesel_Rabbit »

Does anyone make a complete wiring kit that include fuse box etc for a 1984 diesel rabbit? I do see them for the bugs, type 3 etc.

Have been fighting electrical issues for while and ready to just yank everything out and start fresh.

I know where to get a fuse box new for a 79-80 rabbit oem. For some reason I could not find a 84 rabbit, I wonder what they changed in four years?

fuse box

Fuse boxes made a big change in those years.
After '80 they allow access to all the contacts on the back, you don't just plug into the back of the box.... bad pins and corroded connections on the old style were a real problem.
After '80 you can see or measure if there is something wrong, earlier ones had everthing running around inside a box.
I'd try the vortex for someone parting one out.
Idhoho is on here and was parting out an '84.
He's also over on the vortex,.. while you are there check with kurt333 and vwpieces,... my favorite sellers.
Great sellers, no worries.

Thanks Fats! I've got an '81 Diesel I'm parting out if anyone needs electricals. Fuse box and wiring is mostly OK as it was a runner when I brought it in. Pulled the engine for my '80 pickup.
