what is the max size tire that I can put on a 15x7" rim on my westy, My van has 1.6 td with dk tranny. I just got a set of 15" rims and want the best size for my power. I understand that I need a LT or c Rated tire , and was told that 215 65R 15 is the one to use but I think that is small. Or is that as big as I can go for rubbing problems. THat size of tire is not that common and is $190. each.

27" tall tires will fit fine. I have heard that a little over 28" diameter is when they start rubbing on the rear trailing arms. www.thesambe.com in the vanagon/eurovan forum would have lots of threads on tires. I haven't used 15" rims, so am not sure of the specifics.
