INJECTION PUMP FRONT SEAL

I am trying to find someone that knows how to replace the front seal in an IP off a 2002 Jetta Auto TDI. It doesnt leak much and I am actually trying to figure out where it really is coming from. I drips small amounts directly under the pump just below pulley. All other seals appear to be easily changeable but somone has told me that the front seal has to be done by someone that knows what they are doing. Maybe there is a write up and with careful review a DIY could do it. Anyone close enough to Utah that knows what they are doing with this issue? I dont want to buy a complete rebuild unit for $900 when it is only a seal.
