Sump Guard

Post by jasonsansfleece »

Does any one make a sump guard for a 02 jetta?

My mother in law has to negotiate some dirt road and recently cracked the sump.

It would have to a "bolt on". Fabrication not much of an option in the circumstances.

Thanks

My vote... Use Panzer sheild from Diesel Geek

Reason? No holes. One person said their holes filled up with snow and it ended up in their air filter. If it melted and passed into the engine then you have bent rod. Check your snow gaurd!

The drawback is..... Have to use suction to change oil (Pella device or other) or remove cover to access drain plug.

The Panzer sheild has holes marked that you could cut a hole to change the oil but that would defeat the purpose of the no holes.

Edit: Hey I just noticed the picture is of a All Wheel Drive Car. It must be an Audi (cover fits audi's also) because I dont think there is a A4 Awd, is there????

Heres another but its got holes.

Evolution auto accessories.

Heres another with so many holes is it really gonna save your oil pan from that Opposum you hit?
