throttle sticks , then letting off from mid to upper rpms the motor hesitates some.. like bobs the throttle then comes down.
isnt the throttle cable..
was going to try adding some ATF to diesel see if it does anything..
pump is rebuilt... springs seems to pop it back to idle when under the hood.. on street the throttle sticks at mid throttle... then a quick jab and it releases.

I found with my newly rebuilt IP that the throttle stuck like you describe. I didn't have any hesitation though.
I took some oil and squirted it in the throttle shaft spring area, and this removed the sticking throttle for me. You could probably use silicone spray, WD 40 or something similar, but I did this along side the road with oil from a quart jug I had with me. Give this a try.

Everybody else lists their cars here - but not me.

I had to do the same thing on my old '81 every 6 months or so. Just gave the throttle return spring area a squirt of two of penetrating oil and then work the throttle back and forth to get the oil distributed inside.
