Thread Lock for pulleys

Post by surfing07 »

Hello there, I have a vw 1.6na diesel motor, I am putting the pulleys back on after my rebuild, would anyone recommend using medium strength thread lock on all my pulleys before I put them on? I was going to just torque them to spec.(33ft.lbs.) and put them on. Any suggestions? E

I Blue-Loctite the large center crank bolt, but not the pulley bolts. No problems.

I second what VW Jon says. Definitely Loctite the crank pulley bolt.

Use the stretch bolt with the 19mm 12 point head on the crank pulley for the TB.
