1.6TD can run without turbo?

can i run a 1.6 TD motor w/out the turbo and just a normal 8v exhaust manifold?

I'm pretty sure it should run just fine without the turbo without having to make any modifications. If you do have to make some, maybe just adjusting timing or fuel screw.

What you going to do with the old turbo manifolds and turbo?

You'll have to mess with the intake as well, and block the oil supply line and return line fittings but it will run just fine. Now, why someone would want to do such a thing is the obvious question, but I bet there's a good reason.

Hey be158 I don't know where your from but there's another turbo sitting at Calgary pick-an-pull. If you get there before noon it yours if its not gone already. I guess vwkook has figured me out I go for anything shiny.

reason was its a 1.6 out of a quantum... sat for years.. turbo looks to be in sad shape. for sure would leak at seals

have turbo mk2 manifold so itll fit a rabbit.

dont have supply line for turbo, was going to block it off, put motor in .. make it run and have turbo rebuilt or look for newer more efficient turbo options

the injection pump also prob needs rebuilt.. and new seals and gaskets didnt want to spend 1k on the motor at once
