cruise control system pics
I just got a hand-me-down digital camera so I am going to post pics.
here are some of the cruise control minus lever pulled from a gasser:
speed sensor minus 2 screws and (wire cluster that went into the back of the speedo cluster-not part of the system but I grabbed it just in case)
vacuum servo's. the one on the left was connected to the pedal and was inside the cab. the original on the right was under the hood:
vacuum control motor and hoses:
control unit, wire cluster, vacuum vent valves:

I've never seen the vacuum servo under the dash.
The diesel uses a bracket that bolts to the injection pump mounting bracket.

switch
I got the switch in today...thanks Fatmobile for the lead.
I am thinking of going back to the yard and pulling the pedal assembly off the car that had the cruise, so I can install the vacuum servo in the same position under the knee bar.
how can I dry run test this before I totally install?
it has been a while since I pulled the cruise and I am now wondering about the connectors. Did I pull all that I need for the install. For example: the switch has a black female 4 wire/prong connector, and I don't have the male end. I haven't pulled the lower steering cover off to see if by chance the male end is there. and there are at least three other connectors with the same story. any ideas besides me tearing into mine and going back to the yard, which I plan to do shortly.
thanks
UPDATE: Looking at the current flow diagrams:
Cruise contol Switch: bk connector flat prong
wires: Bk, Rd, Bl, W connects @ T4b to:
W connector round prong
wires Bk/R, Y/R, Bl, (Bl/G, Bl/Bk
Problem: connectors don't match
Solution: transition connector in donar car or make new quick connect
Wh male 4 round prong connector T4
Wires: Br, W/Bl, Bl/G
PROBLEM: floating NO CONNECTION IE Not used
as per bentley current flow diagrams, manual and auto
SOLUTION: May be TEST CONNECTOR as per pg.14/31Bentley
Wh Female 2 round prong connector T2c
Wires: Bl/R, (R/Bk) X2; 1cut
currently trying to find out how to read wiring diagram
p126 T2c (C1 and G2????)
OK C1 and G2 idicate multiple connector and terminal number on fuse/relay panel.

back from the yard
I just pulled the white connector with the Bk and R/Bk wire; other side of T2c above;bottom left connects to back of relay( top right section #6? in gasser one prong with relay in following picture);Bk connector with Y/R wire cut connected to back fuse panel 13ish location in Yellow plastic box:
I pulled this as well just to make sure. it is the rest of the Bk connector pictured above with (brake light switch?):
relay mentioned above:
accelerator pedal with pin and clip pulled for installation of vacuum servo in cab:
another view:
close-up of needed barb:
servo connected to pedal:

Thanks for taking time to write this up.
Some of what you are writing is confusing me. For example:
