I was looking at a Dodge diesel website and this topic came up. Here are some of the things that were written.
#1 Has anyone noticed with the new low sulfer fuel the exhaust smoke has taken on a lighter color of black, or is it just me.
#2 Less sulpher = Less smoke. That's the whole idea behind ULSD. LESS pollutants/emissions. Just turn the smoke screw up a little higher!
#3 add 2 gallons of used motor oil to a tank of fuel
#4 EEEEW.. I would rather use my buddies BIO.. Nasty stuff in used oil, acids, fuel dilution, heavy solids, soot dilution, not for me.
I agree with the EEEEW.. but is there any merit in adding some oil or trans fluid to each tank and if so, how much? Does this new fuel really eat away at the gaskets and seals?
