Need 1982 expansion tank

I need to replace my expansion tank and am having a hard time finding one. Anyone have one or can tell me how to convert to another style and where to get one? Thanks Irene

Get the 86+ tank and a level sensor to plug the hole. Attach it whatever way is easiest for you. Connect the two hoses.

Is the 86 tank out of any particular engine or are they standard in any water cooled. Thanks for the help.

I'd specifically get one from an 86+ Waterboxer Vanagon. The tank is a different shape and so you'll need to figure out how to mount it. I did the same on my '83 diesel vanagon and did a quick and nasty mounting job by using two pieces of galvanized steel wire and tying it through the bolt holes in the new tank. Not really pretty, but totally effective.
