Why does bio damage seals?

If bio is made from vo or wvo and wvo does'nt harm seals why does bio? If this has been covered before i appolgize.Thanks

OK will try to explain with minimal chemical stuff.
But, what stuff I use should be found in any chemical text and maybe wikipeadia.

VO and WVO are triglyerides.
Using Sodium methoxide on VO/WVO converts it to 3 smaller methyl Esters and a glycerol molecule.
This process is called transesterification and is covered in a number of excellent books on just this conversion.
The only one I can remember the title is, "From the fryer to the fuel tank" by Joshua somebody!
The methyl esters are biodiesel and the gylcerol is a by product of the process.
It's more complicated than this, but this should give you the basics.

Anyway, to answer your question, the methyl esters are much better solvents than the tirglyerides.
Thus they will dissolve many different kinds of plastic and rubber.
