1999 jetta tdi glowplug circuit problem need guidance

1999 jetta tdi glowplug circuit problem need guidance

Glowplugs only recieve .27v when coolant temp. sensor is connected, however when disconnected I get 12v and the car starts I recieved a code
Glowplug short to ground or open circuit p1619. I replaced the G.P. relay, start unlock relay & coolant temp sensor.

Over approximately 45*F the GPs on a TDI do not come on. The light only comes on as test to indicate the light is working.

Have you tested the GPs for the proper resistence? Maybe the harness is bad. It is a weak item on the early A4 cars.
