81 diesel truck rear brakes???

Ive tried three different style of brakes,cant seem to find right ones,the shoes are right but the emergency brake cable wont fit???Parts man said there is no other part number,like to know good source to find some or how can make others fit?Thanks truck is a 81 volkswagon truck diesel.thanks

Compare them to a later dasher or quantum. If I recall the pickup had deeper drums than the rabbit.

I'm going to move this over to the WTB for sale fora.
The shoes are right so you must have gotten the right ones for the bigger brakes.
Sounds like you got e-brake cables for a Rabbit. Are they too short?
