I took video of the engine running with the belt cover off, to see how much the belt flapped around when running. Turns out, pretty much doesn't move around at all. I think I'm pretty happy with where it's at in terms of tension based on what I see here, but if someone else feels differently I'm all ears...

Thanks -- if you weren't 1500 miles away I'd consider it... but I feel OK about the tension at this point so I'm good. Appreciate the offer.Josh wrote:I'll loan you my vw210 to check it with if you want.

That video made my day. I love the smell of diesel in the morning. I don't know why the wife doesn't feel the same. The clatter seems to have woke her up. I'm starting the day behind on browny points.

Re: Want to borrow my tensioning tool?
It's small and light and would be cheap to ship; I imagine under $10 round-trip in a box via USPS. Consider it a standing offer!v8volvo wrote:Thanks -- if you weren't 1500 miles away I'd consider it... but I feel OK about the tension at this point so I'm good.
