Diesel 1.6 L 5 speed. 160K on the clock.
The good:
New custom glowplug system (starts great even cold and allows quick test of each plug)
New Starter
New front wheel bearings and tie rods
New driveshafts
New brakes (they still don't work that great, see oil pressure below)
New Clutch
New Pistons + rings + bore + seals + gaskets
New head
No rust on front towers or in bed
New tires on snowflake alloy rims (GTI)
New carpet and insulation
New injectors (within 2K miles)
Late model VW steering wheel
New stereo.
The bad:
Low oil pressure. I have traced this to the intermediate shaft bearings. Can be fixed with motor in. Have new shaft and bearings. Oil pump is new.
Still leaks a bit of oil.
Paint rough.
Small crack on windshield (not obstructive)
Needs new injector lines and fan cover
Seats rough but covered they're OK
Has a set of studded snowtires for winter.
Comes with the special tool to set the fuel pump timing and hold the fuel pump pulley for setting the timing belt.
Runs biodiesel well and a surprisingly large amount of stuff fits in the bed.
Has topper (Royal red body and topper)
Asking $1,800 or make offer!
