Portland, Oregon VW Engine Rebuilder????

Does anyone have any opinions about a great VW diesel engine rebuilder in the Portland, OR area? I hope this is not a taboo question to ask on this forum, but I would have to have local support if I put a new engine in my car.

I am not in need at the moment, but it is good to a little preventive investigation.

At 247K I doubt you would need a complete rebuild if the car has been properly maintained which I assume would be the case since you are the original owner.

I'm with you there. Just doing a little research.

I have taken pretty good care the the Jetta. Oil and filter every 3ooo miles, no hard acceleration, no hard breaking, easy on the clutch(original), no crazy driving, ever! colder weather a block heater is used for start up, usually using Delo 400 15W-40 diesel oil.

I'm running and oil comsumption test now just to see how many miles on a quart of oil.
