WTB - 86 Jetta Deluxe Rear Door Interior Panels - Tan Color

Post by 82vdub »

I need two replacement interior door panels for the rear doors for my 86 Jetta Deluxe, in Tan color and headliner to match. Please let me know what you have. See pic for proper style and color. Also need brown center console for manual trans. PM with what you have.

door panels

Post by diesel freak »

I was just at Pull A Part yesterday and they had a 1986 Jetta with a tan interior. There were 3 good door panels , the front passenger's was broken but the driver's side and both rear looked pretty good, maybe abit of water damage on the bottom of the panels. e-mail me at Mitchweinman@aol.com if you want me to pull them for you. Don't know how much they want or how much shipping would be. Might not be worth it.

The rear door panels that I have now are green on the bottom, and the fiber (paper?) backing on the bottom is completely mush. From your observance, does it look like the panels in the car you saw would be in about the same shape or better?

I will check them out for you. Are you only interested in the rear ones?

I'm always looking for you buddy, whenever I go to a pick and pull. Problem is, not many of those old Jettas show up.

Thanks. Cars even of this vintage are absolutly nowhere to be found in salvage yards around here. Too much rust to keep old stuff around when there's no demand for it. It seems like it's 2000 and newer is what's in yards here.

The old ones do turn up in the south from time to time, but my local pick and pull is devoid of just about any VW product at the moment.

I have a friend in CT who may have some stuff stowed away. I'll be heading up to see the folks over Christmas into New Years. Send me a PM in that period and remind me to call him. He has a barn attic full of old MK1 and MK2 stuff that he pulled in the 1990s. There may be a chance he has what you need.

I'll try to remember to send a PM. Note that I edited the original post to correct the year to 86 (not 96) and that I need a brown center console for a manual trans vehicle as well. Mine's just sunkissed too much.
