So I'm thinking of splurging and getting the Bilstein strut assembly for my '82 Rabbit. I'll be getting a new top bearing and bushing, of course (and grinding down the bushing to fit).
That brings up the bump stop. I've been advised to get the A2 ones, but it occurred to me that the Bilsteins monotubes have a much larger diameter piston.
So, will the A2 (or A1) stop still work? Are they at all necessary? I think there is a supplied boot with the Bilstein. Is there also a supplied stop?
Edit: Never mind. I looked at the Bilstein instructions -- the struts have built-in bump stops.
