Passenger Performance 1.6td intake manifold

Post by punkvideo81 »

I wanted to throw one of these on my 1.6td but just got an email back from them that they don't make them anymore. Does anyone else make them? Thanks

The stock TD intake really favors the center 2 cylinders.
I don't know of anyone who is making them with a better plenum.

My suggestion, since you have a MK1 is get a VNT turbo from a TDI.
That will allow you to use a cheap gasser intake with much better flow.

With the stock turbo sticking up so high, it's hard to make a good intake that will fit between the turbo and head.

Most of the TDI turbos hang down.
I don't think they will fit a MK2 because of the motor mount,
maybe not even the MK3s.
,... but they fit the Rabbits just fine.

You can probably get a VNT turbo for less than the passenger performance intake would cost,.. sell the rest of your stock turbo parts, come out ahead
and have a better turbo.

Otherwise about any welding shop could make you one,.. with a picture of what passenger performance was doing.
