wtb: 1980 mk1 (caddy) windshield (Chicago)

Hi,

I've got a huge crack in my windshield, looking for a clean one. I drive around a lot, so near Chicago not all that necessary. Will pick up, of course.

Have you called to see how much it would cost to have someone come out and replace the windshield with a new one? It may be somewhat cheap, and certainly you won't break it installing a used piece of glass.

That's not a bad idea, I actually had no intention of trying to self-intall, if I was I would probably need three windshields! I want to get a rust hole in the windshield surround repaired during the swap, I'll have somebody do that too. I'll do some research, there are about 300,000 autoglass shops down here.

It's almost on the road, just need to fix the brakelights.

FYI: Any of the following windshields will work:

1980-1983 Jetta
1975-1982.5 Rabbit and Pickup
1980-1989 Rabbit Convertible and Cabriolet
