Vinyl/plastic trim dyeing?

Post by bigger daddy »

Does anybody out there have a supplier they use to dye vinyl? The interior pieces of my 81 4dr cleaned up very nicely. However some pretty extreme fading on the dash and door trim. The color is red/maroon. Like I said they are in great condition other than color. I could use some help on this one.

TIA

I had the local carquest (that can mix up automotive paint) make up an interior dye spray can for me when I added the console in my car. It was just like using a spray can of paint. I thought there would have been more to it, but nope.
Everybody else lists their cars here - but not me.

I have too many to count

For the interior of my 1981 Rabbit pickup, I used SEM Color Coat in Napa Red. It's a spray for plastic, carpet, or vinyl. Napa Red is very close to the original color. It has held up very well, did the dash, door panels, arm rests, shifter boot, etc. looks great.
