Jetta Seats

Post by diesel freak »

I found a very nice set of Leather seats from a 1994 Jett and I was wondering if the would fit my 1986 Golf Diesel.

I can't say for certain, I don't know which year they changed the mounts.

I got a nice pair of seats out of an '05. They have an inverted T rail in the center. (I plan to use them for ergonomic office chairs. )
Have a nice day.

Ya know, the bases from the MK3 won't fit in the MK2 or MK1, buuut,....

I once took the foam from an '87 Quantum and put it on a Rabbit GTI base,
and the quantum seat back snapped right onto the GTI base.
'91 Golf gasser converted to a 12mm pump, M-TDI.
'84 1.6TD Rabbit with a VNT-15 turbo, still setup to run on vegetable oil.
'84 GTI with 1.7TD pistons and intercooled.
2003 TDI wagon
2000 TDI Jetta.

They'll fit, but you'll have to swap the covering onto the MK2 or MK1 seat base. I think you'll actually need the late (1990-1992) MK2 bases, due to the location of the swivel pivot point for the seat back.
