fuel guage innaccurate

Have you checked it to make sure it's installed properly? They sort of rotate into place on top of the fuel tank and I know on the MKI VWs if you are a quarter turn off you will get the float hung up to that it won't read properly.

If it reads low but never has 'blackouts' then the track at the sender is fine. Either orientation is incorrect see above, or float leaking, or float lever needs bending.

Remove and inspect, and reconnect whilst out an move float over it's entire travel whilst looking at gauge on instrument panel. If you canot get FSD, then problem is up at the instrument end...

Better than mine, mine never reads empty. I just use it as a rough idea, and go on mileage..
