A (0) symbol lit up on display

A yellow symbol lit up in the middle of the display area(O).I suspect it may have to do with brakes but I wonder what is the detailed meaning.

Its the front brake pad indicator light. It means the front brake pads are worn beyond acceptable limits and need to be replaced, or the sensor wire is corroded/unplugged/ or clipped off as we found on my fathers later Jetta.

I already have a spare set of pads. I have swapped Summer & Winter tire/wheels a couple of times in the past year,pads had plenty of "meat on the bones" so more likely sensor than worn pads. I can take a look and replace pads as necessary No Problem. an ABS fault would have been a problem. Thanks!
