time to move on..

Post by DanHoug »

i've placed an ad over in the buy sell trade section for my cars, parts, and veg oil equipment. just wanted to thank this list and the moderators for all the help i've gotten keeping these things running and the great suggestions for improvements. it's been a very fun experience but now i'm simplifying my life, driving a 2013 Civic, and moving this stuff on. it's all located in Bemidji MN, probably too far from anyone here to make it worthwhile but i wanted to let you all know it is available.

Sorry to see you go. Wish I was closer and had a little more room, would like to have an ECO MK2 to play with. Not that I don't have enough cars but as the bumper sticker says "when you die the one with the most toys wins" and I like my toys.

thanks, Bob. the appeal of these cars is very strong to me. however, i'm trying to par down possessions and reclaim some time. busy lives all of us, eh? i have to say it is pretty wonderful to just get in a car and go, without the tinkering. that said, i love a car that is 100% mechanical. anyway, i want to pass the torch!

Yes I say work interferes with my hobbies :D and my personal life is pretty busy too so time to tinker is hard to come by. Still nice t dream though. Good luck to you hope you are able to liquidate your diesel stuff easily.

Dan, you've provided lots of useful info to folks on the forum, and thanks for that. Sorry to see you go, but I understand about how nice it would be to not have to work on the car all the time. Life gets in the way of things sometimes.
Everybody else lists their cars here - but not me.

I have too many to count

thanks, 82vdub! i do have a confession to make.... in the past year i restored a 32 year old BMW motorcycle and bought a 27 year old motorcycle for my wife. so i haven't taken this simplification thing *too* seriously!

funny how the BMW list members are always insisting that you only send your heads out to a few specialist shops in the US, or that you must find a race mechanic to weld a tab on your frame. that's what was so refreshing about this list.... you just innovate and find a way to do it yourself, try something, experiment, and everyone is capable.

Any way you could move a few states east and draft up a payment plan?

all sold out.... the only thing left is some VW specific tools, which i can never manage to sell when i move a vehicle on whether it is a Bultaco Alpina, a Volvo 1800S, or the diesels.

i suddenly feel like i have this HUGE amount of free time in my life :-)

'til me meet again, eh?
